1. INTRODUCTION
Journal of Geospatial Science and Technology (JGST) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed research journal that is committed to publishing manuscripts that contributes to the science, theory, applications and practice of geospatial technologies and techniques. The Journal is sponsored by Regional Centre for Training in Aerospace Surveys (RECTAS) Ile-Ife Nigeria. JGST publishes in English and French original research papers, case reports, research notes, short communications and reviews in various aspects of Geoinformation and Remote sensing applications. Symposia or workshop papers may be published as supplements.
The scope of the journal includes original research articles, case and technical reports, reviews and analyses papers, short communications and notes to the editor, in interdisciplinary information on the practice and status of geo-information application in both natural and man-made environment and book reviews. The Editors invite manuscripts that contribute significantly to Geoinformation technology applications in any of the following areas:


  • Space remote sensing and applications, meteorology, climatology, ionospheric and topospheric scintillations
  • Urban planning, Urban management, Land Administration, Landuse/landcover, traffic and transportation, waste management
  • Surveying, geodesy, cadastre management, Land Information System, flooding,
  • Forestry, agriculture, water and soil surveys and mapping, agronomy,
     
  • Geology, mining, environmental chemistry and biology, environmental pollution, point and non-point sources of pollution
  • Disaster managements, Social and natural disasters, flooding, wild fires, erosion, land slide, earthquakes
  • Environmental impact assessment, industrial ecology, ecological and human risk assessment; improved energy management and auditing efficiency and environmental standards and criteria. Disaster management
  • Contemporary issues in GIS, ethics and practice of Geospatial technology, legal issues and globalization effects on GIS
  • Software development issues, Free Open source GIS software
  • Education, capacity building, organizational learning
